From Wayne:

I actually live near to Medford NJ, but didn't know anything about Grimmie until the summer of 2013. This was when a former high school friend of hers; who life guarded at our neighborhood pool for a few years, recommended Christina's videos to me.

I'd adopted YouTube as my favorite go to channel online late in 2012 and had been focused on the new voices; either discovered exclusively on the net or through the various talent shows, so Christina seemed a natural addition to the already sizable roster.

Still I didn't really get how amazing she was until the music video Tell My Mama came out, and all at once all her skills were on display. That was so much fun as it showed the beginnings of a confidence in herself which would only grow stronger over time.

But soon after that I started: as Tyler Ward would say in his excellent song, to lose touch for a moment; or maybe a year(in my case a couple years). I believe it was simply that she was doing so well and I was distracted by other more shaky but still talented new voices that needed encouragement. Again; to paraphrase Tyler, there would be time enough to get back in touch with Christina. Except; as we know now, sometimes there isn't.

But as Scott and other good folks understand, the journey isn't quite over yet. Her legacy can have a long life on its own, if Team Grimmie tends to it - With Love. Rawwk on, all. :)
